I’ve seen company websites also done with wordpress. Using a static frontpage, a couple pages for product/service descriptions, and then the rest is news, whatever in more typical blog fashion. Truth be told, a blog is a lot more approachable than a full blown CMS!
And speaking about communities, I sort of like comments to post better than the typical forum format.

I agree with you, and i am also working on a company website using wordpress.

I totally agree with Pascal.
I have to say that you have done a great job with the three-column K2. I swithced to K2 when I got WP 2.0 and I think it is great. I use it for my personal BangkokBlog (which so far is in Swedish only… so you can probably not read it) but I could use som instructions on how to use K2 and the three column version for my company website (www.sea-pr.com) as well. Meaning that I have to change the header into my logo image. I cannot figure out how to do that in K2…
May I also ask you what Plugins you are using..? Is there a comment plugin with the preview function? And what about the number of subscribers, is that a plugin as well?

Just create a header image with the logo and change it in header class in css file. Yes there’s a live comment previe plugin available. Abt the no of subscribers, its a chicklet from feedburner.com. It just shows how many people currently subscribed to ur feed. You can check the list of plugins I am using on this page
