But now I am used to it and it does a good job. Smart playlists are pretty neat! But Quicktime is one of the suckiest players out there (like Real Player). I use VLC Player or Media Player Classic to view qt movies and so Quicktime is pretty redundant for me. I still think that WMP is great tho!! It keeps everything organized and looks good doing it. I hear it isn't quite as stable on Windows machines, but I've never had a problem with the app. Just make sure you go through the preferences to tweak it to suit your tastes. Plus, on Apple machines, iTunes is infinitely customizable with Apple Script Plug-Ins. For example, I have one called "Proper English Title Capitalization" which goes through the songs I select and capitalizing main words, while leaving things like "the" or "in" lowercase. It is pretty amazing! Quicktime... yeah, not so much. I have it installed and I do run things through it sometimes... but, really, it would be stupid to not use VLC for video watching. It is able to play many more filetypes (even wmv on a Mac!) and is, all around, a more full-fledged option. So yeah, iTunes = fantastic. Quicktime = not really necessary. At the end of it all I'm not a total convert since I spend an equal amount of time on both my windows and mac machines. But to answer your question, I use both. They really cost too much ram memories under Windows system, i still prefer using Windows Media Player to manage my audio library, as well VLC meets my basic needs in video playing. P.S: I'm a linux daily-user, Amarok and VLC are always my first choice. I dont use neither iTunes nor QuickTime.
